Quick Tip on how to find Hot Stocks in an Up Trend

Although this may not be much of a tip, as this is what I first did when I started trading, but eventually started to look at it less and less, is monitoring Daily and Weekly Top Gainers to find good stock candidates. I use to look at this everyday, but have been doing so less and less lately, but I believe it is important to check this every time. This is how I decided to take a long position with SBUX today, which was one of the day's top gainers. SBUX was among other stocks such as NVDA to have a breakout and therefore a BUY SIGNAL today. If you monitor this everyday, you may start noticing that some stocks will show up more often than others, and this usually indicates it's in a strong uptrend. I think it is a great way of finding great stocks for your portfolio. Although you may not want to take a position in a stock that just moved +25% in a day, you may want to look at others who are less volatile. This doesn't mean the +25% stock won't move even higher, but it may be safer to go with less volatility. Basically, what I'm saying is from this list of top gainers, you should then start checking out the charts of each of them and see if there are any opportunities. That's how I noticed SBUX today and decided to take a long position. I will now try just like I use to when I started trading, to monitor the top gainers on a daily basis to find the greatest opportunities.
